Review: The Experiment by Immobile Concepts

It recently came to my attention that, due to my hiatus, I've completely neglected to review any of Immobile Concepts' (formerly Sticky Barbi productions) videos that were made after he branched out and started working with different models. With that in mind, I wanted to talk a bit about "The Experiment", which I consider to be a turning point in the turbulent history of sticky cinema.

Immobile had been creating videos with a newer model named Mandy for a while at the point this video came out. I probably won't bother covering any of those in great detail on here, but you can find them on his C4S store if you'd like (link below). I'd put most of those in the C to C+ realm based on my normal rating criteria -- they suffered from a lot of the same problems as Immobile's Barbi videos did: Mandy didn't show a lot of personality or affinity for acting, and there wasn't really any story or progression to speak of.

Then, out of nowhere, Immobile posted a teaser video of Mandy stepping into a new type of "Chinese hot melt" glue, and everything changed.

The "story" is simple: Mandy enters the frame barefoot, wearing tight black jeans and a low-cut top. She intentionally steps into a large puddle of a new type of glue for testing purposes and immediately gets stuck to the spot. Suddenly, the quiet, shy Mandy we had come to expect was gone, and it was like she was replaced by a different person. She struggles, grunts, curses, and even pleads a bit as she pulls ineffectively at her feet, only making forward progress after a LOT of patience and a bit of coaching from Immobile. Eventually, she makes it to the other side of the large pan of glue and reluctantly puts her feet on some large, unmelted blocks of the glue. She initially thinks this will be easier because the blocks appear to have some squish to them, but they turn out to be just as tough to escape.

This video is barefoot-only, which won't appeal to everyone, but the struggling is great, the "tester" is attractive and extremely vocal ("this is like a straight-up person trap" might be my favorite quote, followed closely by "I'm dead-ass stuck"), and the melted vs unmelted glue adds a bit of variety - the melted puddle is more rigid, while the blocks have a fun little stretch.

The community will always owe Immobile a debt of gratitude for introducing this new game-changer glue to us. This is one of the most (if not the most) authentic stuck scenarios you can find, so for those reasons, it gets my highest grade. If you somehow don't already have it, do yourself a favor and pick it up on Immobile's C4S store.

Grade: A+
